PET

POLYETHYLENE TEREPHTHALATE

This popular material is a thermoplastic polymer resin of the polyester family and is used in numerous applications including beverage, food, cosmetics, chemical and many other containers around the world.

 

PET is commonly used for carbonated beverages and water bottles as well as alcohol, wine and edible oils, and various food applications since it is not used in  high temperature applications (max. temp. 140 F). This plastic can be semi-rigid to rigid, depending on the thickness  and is easily run at  lightweights. It has a high degree of impact resistance and tensile strength as well as a good reputation for chemical resistance.

 

Commonly recycled, PET plastics can be made into everything from new bottles and packaging to clothing, pillows, carpet and many other products.

 

Sizes molded presently range from 1 oz to 2 litres.
